Me as teen: Spending every summer sunbathing as much as possible, and (shudder) even partaking in an occasional winter tanning-bed session. Me now: Wearing sunscreen year round, slowly increasing my stash of sun hats, and parking myself firmly under the umbrella at the beach. Thankfully, my reverence for SPF has come a long way. But to be honest? My 16-year-old yearning for a tan is not totally dormant. And while I've dabbled in self tanners in the past, the dreaded smell, and even more dreaded streaks, has put me off—until a coworker turned me on to the one foolproof, never-miss formula.
Take it from my Isle of Paradise Self Tanner review: This self tanner is legit, and for a limited time you can get not one but two bottles—plus an application mitt—for just $35. The duo means you have enough stash for long-term repeat applications, so I'm feeling very smug I'm now set for a summer glow all season long.
The best part, of course, is how streamlined (and streak-free) the application is. The product comes out as a soft mousse with a light scent, which you rub in circular motions with the included mitt, applying to tops of hands and feet last. Wash your hands, relax, and in four to six hours your new bronzer color will emerge with no weird smudges in sight. (Psst: You can choose from light, medium, to dark colors based on your skin tone and preferred level of tan.) So far, I have two applications under my belt, and am loving the illuminated, natural look of the light formula on my skin. And the real kicker: No sun damage allowed.
