They say that trends are circular, and boy—if the revival of flared leggings and yoga pants aren't living proof, I don't know what is. Yes, we still love our classic, 7/8 leggings (I don't think those will ever go out of style) but these days, we're adding a little "flair" to our athleisure wardrobes, and we couldn't be happier about it.

And while we all used to scramble to get our hands on the same, Victoria's Secret Pink fold-over yoga pants ('00s teens, you know exactly what I'm talking about), we now have hundreds of more comfortable, more stylish, and way more diverse options to swoon over. From legacy athletic brands to up-and-coming DTC retailers, flared leggings and yoga pants are back and better than ever before.

If you want to get your kicks with a pair of your own, you've come to the right spot. Below are the best pairs of every budget, style, activity, and size, all meticulously vetted and researched by our commerce editors.

The best flared leggings and yoga pants, at a glance:

The best flared leggings and yoga pants you'll ever wear

Best overall

Athleta, Elation Flare Pant — $99.00

Sizes: XXS-3XL

Lengths: Petite, regular, tall

Colors: 7 different shades

Athleta’s flare yoga pant ticks off all our boxes, earning itself best of the best in our books. For starters, they’re comfortable and versatile enough to lounge in or work out in, thanks to the quick-drying, compressive fabric that’s not too stuffy but also not too stiff. Designed with a high waistband, you can wear them comfortably with tanks, T-shirts, or a sports bra alone.

The sizes, colors, and length ranges are impressive, too, as is their $99 price tag which—for a yoga pant you want to withstand wear and tear—isn’t unheard of.

What reviews say: “Great material that hugs your body in all the right places. So glad there’s a petite size so it doesn’t drag on the floor for my 5’0 self. So comfortable and cute!” — Athleta customer

Best under $50

Halara, Halara High-Waisted Crossover Flare Leggings — $33.00

Sizes: XS-XL

Lengths: Petite and regular

Colors: 10 different shades

You don’t have to drain your savings to get a quality pair of flared leggings. These ones from Halara are the real deal, made with everything you want in a quality pant for working out or watching Netflix. We particularly like the flattering crossover waist which supports your core while still allowing for movement. Peek into the back and you’ll find a waistband pocket for storing small personal items.

As for the material, they’re available in the Halara’s regular stretchy, wicking fabrics, or the Patitoff, which is pet-fur repellant.

What reviews say: “I am 6’0 ft tall and could not find a review where someone said the height. I got super nervous thinking they wouldn’t be long enough but they truly were perfect length and comfortable! Took a super long time to get here though,” — Halara customer

Best for yoga

Lululemon, Groove Super-High-Rise Flared Pant — $118.00

Sizes: 0-20

Lengths: n/a

Colors: 8 different shades including a graphite pattern

Those looking to flow down and slow down should do it these lovely leggings from Lululemon. Why? Because they’re designed with the brand’s ridiculously soft Nulu fabric, that feels like if a kitten and a chinchilla had a baby. Given their softness, they’re also incredibly supple and can take you from Downward Dog to Cobra without straining the seams. In the back, you’ll find a drop-in waistband for small personal items, which you can rely on to stay in place thanks to that no-budge waistband.

The only downside is that these don’t come in lengths. At 32.5-inches long, some reviews say they run short on taller heights, and long on shorter heights.

What reviews say: “A little long but they fit so nicely otherwise. Will probably buy them in another color,” — Lululemon customer

Best on Amazon

Topyogas, High-Waisted Flare Workout Pants — $25.00

Sizes: XXS-XXL

Lengths: Only regular lengths

Colors: 6 different neutral shades

Want your pants in two days or less? Amazon Prime these bad boys, which have more than 3,500 5-star reviews from very happy customers. The spandex-nylon blend is stretchy, sweat-friendly, and feather-light, so you won’t have to worry about sweating through a HIIT sesh (or a steamy Bridgerton scene…).

And they’re cute! Like the Halara pants, they sport a V-waist that’s super flattering and actually stays in place. The only downsides? They don’t come in lengths, so if you’re petite or tall, hope the regulars will do the trick. Reviewers also note that the gray and khaki options are a bit see-through and tend to give a camel toe, so order wisely.

What reviews say: “I really love these pants. I’m 5’0” with 31” waist and 34” hips and got a small, which fit very well. These pants are very stretchy and comfortable. But also, they have pockets, which was a nice surprise!” — Amazon customer

Best for tall buyers

Offline by Aerie, High Waisted Ruched Flare Legging — $42.00

Originally $60, now $42

Sizes: XXS-XXL

Lengths: Short, regular, and tall lengths

Colors: 5 different colors (black, brown, maroon, blue, and green) and camouflage.

If you’re tall, you know that finding a yoga pant that’s actually long enough is like finding a needle in a haystack. Inseams are everything—otherwise, you’re left unintentionally sporting a cropped style.

Which is precisely why we love these pants from Aerie, which come in long inseams that are a whopping 35″. On top of being buttery soft and ridiculously lightweight, that long inseam actually hits where you want them to hit, never leaving you with floods. We love the crossover waist with a smidge of ruching for detailing, and want a pair in every color.

Best petite

Gap, Sky High Recycled Power Leggings — $34.00

Originally $70, now $34

Sizes: XSS-XXL

Lengths: Short, regular, and tall lengths

Colors: Black, pink, brown, and navy blue

On the flip side, anyone who’s petite knows the literal drag of too-long pants. Rather than holding your breath on regulars, Gap’s petite flare pants land at a 29-inch inseam, so you won’t have to worry about them overflowing.

The fit is standard, featuring a slim silhouette until it hits the ankles and flares out. The fabric is flexile and quick-drying, too, but the part is that it’s made from recycled polyesters, so you can feel good about it while you wear. We only wish they flared out a little bit more—they’re more of a bootcut ankle than a traditional bellbottom, but we love them regardless.

What reviews say: “Perfect length and size with good fabric. Very nice looking pants. Good buy!” — Gap customer.

Best for cardio

Sweaty Betty, Power Kick Flare Workout Pants — $118.00

Sizes: XXS-XXL

Lengths: 30″ or 32″ inseams

Colors: Black

For hard HIIT sessions, sweaty spin classes, and other high-impact activities, put these Sweaty Betty pants on. They’re made from the brand’s Power fabric, which is made to absorb moisture while you work out to keep you cool, dry, and comfy. Layer on the compressive fabric and sculpted silhouette, and you’ll feel like a rockstar.

But the best part about these pants is that they actually convert from flare to fitted, thanks to an internal drawstring in the cuff. How cool is that? They’re pretty much perfect—but we do wish they had more length choices and came in a shade other than black.

What reviews say: “These flares are super comfy and have all the benefits of the Power legging: soft fabric, sculpting shape, and back key pocket with the added style flare feature! I got the 30″ length and these sit just below my ankle,” — Sweaty Betty customer

Best maternity

Beyond Yoga, Spacedye All Day Flare Maternity Pant — $110.00

Sizes: XS-XL

Lengths: n/a

Colors: Black and navy

Mamas to be: Buy these pants. Not only will they be the softest thing you’ll probably ever put over your belly, but they’re also supportive, too. They’re the maternity version of the brand’s All Day pants, complete with that satiny, second-skin Spacedye fabric. Only difference is, they come with a compressive belly band to take you through all the way to the final trimester.

Unfortunately, the sizing is a bit limited for both the waists and inseams.

What reviews say:Very comfortable, great fabric and fit. They don’t pinch on my ever-growing belly (28 weeks currently). I work from home and wear these 7 days a week, no joke. The cost has been worth it!” — Beyond Yoga customer

Best cropped

FP Movement, Hot Shot Crop Flares — $51.00

Sizes: XS-L

Lengths: n/a

Colors: 5 different shades

You’ll feel like a hot shot in these cool cropped leggings that have a little kick on the cuffs. The Hot Shot Crop Flares are pretty much the best short flares you can get, thanks to their sculpting—yet comfy—fit, and pull-on style. Pair ’em with sneakers when you hit the gym, rock ’em with slippers when you’re at home, or dress ’em up for another occasion.

Just note, they’re not as inclusive as we’d like them to be—with sizes XS-L, it’s fairly limited. Also, some reviews do say they run small, so if you’d rather a looser fit, keep that in mind.

What reviews say: “I absolutely love these pants. They have a little stretch and I love how they’re cropped! I’m 5’4 and have a difficult time finding pants that are not too long and these are a perfect fit!” — Free People customer

Best jeggings

Spanx, Flare Jeans — Midnight Shade — $148.00

Sizes: XS-3XL

Lengths: Regular, petite, and tall

Colors: Also available in white, black, and a light wash.

Unsurprisingly, Spanx makes a jegging that is so freakin’ good, you’ll never regret wearing denim again. These flare leggings come in a stretchy, sculpting denim that fits like a second skin, dramatically flaring at the bottom for a retro look. There are pockets, seams… but no zippers or buttons! Seriously, these beat the jeggings you wore in middle school by a thousand, Vanessa Carlton-approved miles.

Just note: They do run a bit long, even in regular lengths. It’s suggested you rock ’em with a taller heel to scoop that bell-bottom off the floor. And despite their hefty price tag, they are 100 percent worth the hype. Heck, add one of the skinny jean styles to your cart while you’re at it—you’ll never buy normal jeans again.

What reviews say:My go to brand from now on. These are super comfy and hold their shape while being very flattering” — Dillard’s customer

Best with pockets

Outdoor Voices, Rib Flare Pant — $98.00

Sizes: XXS-XXL

Lengths: n/a

Colors: 5 different shades

Most of the leggings on this list have hidden or back pockets for small items only, which is why we love these leggings from Outdoor Voices. They have normal side pockets that can fit bigger stuff, not just slim credit cards or tiny Airpods. And rather than a smooth, silky texture, they have a ribbed feel and a lettuce hem, giving them slightly more pizazz than your standard black pants.

What reviews say: “These pants are amazing. They are so incredibly flattering and also the most comfortable pants I own! I wear a small (which is my true size for OV products), and I think sizing up would probably make the pants lose some of their flattering qualities (especially since they’re not compression). Love love love them and would always recommend these,” — Outdoor Voices customer

Most sustainable

Girlfriend Collective, Compressive Flare Legging — $78.00

Sizes: XXS-6XL

Lengths: n/a

Colors: Navy blue, green, and brown

These leggings are so popular, they’re almost entirely sold out in all three colors on GF Collective’s site. When they do come back in stock, though, get them while you can—you won’t regret it.

In addition to their creamy compressive texture that holds you in without leaving you stuff, we love the details, like the back drop-in pocket and sky-high waistband that neither folds or wrinkles. But what’s most impressive is how eco-friendly they are. Each pair is made from recycled plastic water bottles (25 to be exact), saving water and offsetting carbon when you purchase.

What reviews say: “Truly love these flares! You can dress them up for a more put together look pretty easily so I love that! The set is even cuter. My only negative is that I wished the pants flared wider at the bottom” — Girlfriend Collective customers

Most inclusive

Superfit Hero, Superhold Pocket Flare Leggings — $99.00

Sizes: L-7XL

Lengths: n/a

Colors: Black and burgundy

Superfit Hero knows a thing or two about making plus-sized clothing that’s fashionable and functional, like these flared leggings. They’re made with the brand’s ultra-sculpting fabric designed to move with your body without holding you back. Be it squats, lunges, or sit-ups, they actually stay in place (and are opaque enough to hide those VPLs, too).

What reviews say: “I love these pants so far! Great weight of fabric, and I love having pockets! Stretchy, and so far aren’t riding down during squats!” — Superfit Hero customer
