3. Chrissy Teigen's one-step dinner

Chrissy Teigen is the queen of mouth-watering dinner creations, but she also loves a good shortcut in the kitchen. She shared on Twitter that she became "fascinated by" sheet pan cooking—where you throw everything together on a sheet pan and bake in the oven—after having her son Miles this year. Her healthy one sheet-pan recipe with chicken, chickpeas, cumin, and turmeric (via the New York Times) became a weeknight dinner go-to in lots of homes this year after she shared it with her fans.

5. "Keto-light" quinoa enchilada casserole

Yeah sure, the ketogenic diet was everywhere in 2018, but Always Hungry author, endocrinologist David Ludwig, MD, PhD, is actually more of a fan of a modified version of it (allowing for 25 grams of "perfect carbs" per day versus keto's strict 5 percent), with non-tropical fruits, legumes, and lots of non-starchy vegetables on the table. Think of it as "keto light." One way to try it is with this quinoa enchilada casserole, packed with flavor and protein.

PSA: Kombucha isn't the only wellness beverage loaded with probiotics. Water kefir (which is made by fermenting kefir grains in water or coconut water) actually has even more of the good bacteria. This recipe combines it with rose water and cinnamon for a refreshing gut-healthy boost.
