PhooAfter having her first baby, Babba Rivera was shocked by the amount of hair that fell out in the shower. And as the founder of hair-care line Ceremonia, Rivera knew she was well-positioned to manage her hair loss and help other new moms do the same. So she created the Postpartum Bundle—a set of three products designed to exfoliate, fortify and revive your scalp and hair strands during this period of regrowth.

"Postpartum hair care doesn’t have to be a loss," says Rivera. "My hope is that this kit can empower new and future mothers to not only stimulate hair regrowth, but also engage in a small ritual of self-care during the delicate time that is postpartum. It is so hard to find moments for you during this phase in life. Upgrading the wash-day experience into a quick and easy spa moment has been so important to me."

Postpartum hair loss is largely temporary. The American Academy of Dermatology explains that most women see their hair return to its normal fullness a year after birth, if not sooner. And while there's no way to prevent it, there are ways to speed up the growth process after it happens.  "Cleansing and massaging the scalp is an essential part of your hair’s regrowth process, which is why The Postpartum Kit ($55) is focused on scalp health to stimulate healthy hair growth," says Rivera.

The kit comprises three key products: Aceite de Moska (a hair oil), Papaya Scalp Scrub (an exfoliating shampoo), and Scalp Masajeador (a scalp massage tool).

"I actually used part of this ritual already after my first pregnancy. The Aceite de Moska and scalp massager have been staples of mine for almost two years, and I then added the scalp scrub into my routine while we were in sampling mode," says Rivera. "I remember how I kept asking our chemist for more samples because it was such a great addition to my routine in helping regrow my hair, especially since I stopped breastfeeding and lost a lot of hair again."

Aceite de Moska
Aceite de Moska

“Aceite de Moska nourishes and detoxifies the scalp, which is the foundation of hair health,” says Rivera. “Good hair ultimately begins at the scalp, and Aceite de Moska helps to balance the scalp while strengthening the strands. It contains a powerful cocktail of eight key oils, including Babassu Oil to regenerate hair and promote scalp health, and Patauá Oil, which helps reduce scalp flakiness, while promoting follicle health for optimal performance and hair growth.”

Papaya Scalp Scrub

“The Papaya Scalp Scrub is this amazing whipped shampoo that gives a deep, yet gentle cleanse,” says Rivera. “It’s super detoxifying and powered by ingredients such as Bolivian Mountain Salt, for physical exfoliation; Papaya Enzymes, to effectively remove product build-up and nourish hair from the roots; and Prickly Pear Extracts to moisturize, smooth frizz, and prevent breakage.”

Scalp Masajeador

“The Scalp Masajeador is one of our absolute bestsellers—it’s the perfect tool for a soothing, and relaxing at-home scalp massage moment,” says Rivera. “This little miracle tool gently exfoliates and massages the scalp while also invigorating blood flow, which is the baseline for effective hair growth.”
