High-Protein Tahini Date Shake

As a runner and recipe developer, I need my food to be good for me while still tasting delicious, and this high-protein tahini date shake hits the mark perfectly. It has over 30 grams of protein thanks to silken tofu, which adds texture and nutritional value but has no flavor. The flavor of this drink comes from the dates, tahini, and cinnamon, making it perfectly sweet and spiced.

Tahini is crucial in this recipe, as it is chock-full of healthy fats. These fats contribute their own flavor, which is essential for a satisfying eating or drinking experience. Also, you can double the recipe and drink the other half the next day! There may be a little separation, but just give it a shake, and you'll be on your way.

Tahini Date Shake

Serves: 1

Ingredients

  • 1 frozen banana
  • 2 pitted dates
  • 1 tablespoon tahini
  • 1 block silken tofu
  • ¾ cup milk of your choice
  • ½ cup Greek yogurt 
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Pinch of Kosher salt 

Steps

    Add all ingredients to the base of a blender and blend until smooth, about 3 minutes.

    Pour into a large glass and enjoy immediately.
