Bicycle Lingerie: Would you wear these panties?

Pedal pantiesWelcome to the debut of Bicycle Lingerie. It’s not a new sports league. It’s a new clothing category, created to cover your backside when biking, especially when worn under a frock.

Pedal Panties founder Mary McDermott, who created the line with Jenn Tomlinson in San Francisco, says the cycling skivvies are intended to help “ladies feeling better, sexier, and safer on bikes.” (And feel better about flashing?)

The hot shots ($36) also eliminate the need for your own undies—and have a built-in breathable, padded liner that doesn’t add bulk, say the founders. Though the shorts don’t seem designed to prevent visible panty lines if you wear them under your Lululemon spinning capris.

A sweet touch: You can have your panties personalized with your initials, the name of your BMX girl gang—or, hey, the days of the week!

Until Pedal Panties are sold in Manhattan stores (in the sports section of Victoria Secret?), you’ll have to order them at PantySalad.com. So maybe don’t purchase them at work.
