Blossom to open a fifth vegan restaurant in New York City

With a new location set to open in Greenwich Village in mid-March—its fifth in the city—Blossom is quickly becoming New York's biggest vegan restaurant group.

The popular organic, vegan Upper West Side spot, Cafe Blossom, is getting ready to open a new downtown location in mid March.

According to Grubstreet, Cafe Blossom will occupy two floors at 41 Carmine Street (between Bedford and Bleecker) and will feature a “candlelit grotto and fireplace,” along with some new menu items.

Add this new cafe to the many spots Blossom is already running—the aforementioned Cafe Blossom, Blossom NYC in Chelsea, Blossom Du Jour, the V-Note on the Upper East Side, and an upcoming Blossom Bakery—and the collection of restaurants is solidly securing its vegan dining domination in the city.

It’s basically the vegan equivalent of Danny Meyer’s Union Square Hospitality Group.

At this rate, we’ll never eat cheese again. (But we’re not making any promises.)
