More vegan cookies! Blossom du Jour expands

Blossom du Jour started as a tiny grab-and-go outpost of the larger New York vegan empire (which includes Blossom, Blossom Bakery, Cafe Blossom, and V-Note). But the little fast-vegan food shop and smoothie bar is now expanding its reach in a big way.

On April 11, Whole Foods in Chelsea began selling a selection of its packaged foods—from chocolate chip cookies and almond biscotti chips to pot pies—with more products rolling out over the year. And while it’s just the single store for now, the brand is hoping the organic mega-grocer’s customers fall hard for the products, leading to distribution in more stores.

“To be able to share our food line through a venue like Whole Foods and potentially reach millions of people with our vegan edibles is truly an exciting opportunity,” says owner Pamela Elizabeth.

This summer, she’ll also debut another New York City location (more on that soon), in addition to the three Blossom du Jour shops that have, um, blossomed in the last couple of years. Which means way more vegan cookies around the city, and who doesn’t like the sound of that? —Lisa Elaine Held
