Chloe Coscarelli sues meat-loving business partner

By Chloe is pretty much taking over the world at this point, but after a major clash with her business partner, Esquared restaurateur Jimmy Haber, superstar vegan chef Chloe Coscarelli is suing him, for allegedly threatening her in an attempt to take control of the company, the New York Post reports.

Esquared owns the mega successful burger chain BLT and approached Coscarelli two years ago to open an all-vegan joint, which of course ended up being wildly successful. Now they’re butting heads because Team Esquared wants to open restaurants that serve non-vegan options under Coscarelli’s name—something she is definitely not into, Eater reports. After Coscarelli nixed the idea, Haber allegedly said “that she would need a bodyguard if she dared to meet with him in person,” according to the suit.

Even though vegan restaurants clearly can be successful (have you seen the line at By Chloe?), there’s still a predominant viewpoint that vegan equals niche. Megapopular vegan blogger Ella Woodward famously opened a deli in London that serves meat and fish, upsetting some longtime Deliciously Ella fans—but Woodward said it was a move to offer healthy choices to a broader demographic.

Can all of this behind-the-scenes drama please just not delay the openings of the new By Chloe locations? Please?

At least By Chloe isn’t the only restaurant made for Instagramming. These 13 healthy dishes at restaurants around the world are très photogenic too. Or maybe just plan a pretty picnic instead.
