4 Genius Ways Hilary Duff Uses Coconut Oil in Her Beauty Routine
You know those skin-care and beauty products that you use until the very last drop? The ones that you’ve spent entire brunches/text threads/email chains telling your friends about? They’re the best of the best…so amazing that you’d never risk putting them in a piece of checked luggage. At Well+Good, we call those our Beauty VIPs (you know, Very Important Products). In this series, we ask women in wellness and the public eye what beauty products they use every single day and why—with an entire Internet of options to choose from—these items stand out.
You may always think of her as Lizzie McGuire (who BTW was totally the original bitmoji), or the voice behind the ridiculously choreograph-able hit “Come Clean,” but Hilary Duff has come a long way since her Disney days. For one, she's morphed into a full-on body positivity spokeswoman after having her son Luca and she's also ditched her cosmetics to catch empowering makeup-free moments on Instagram.
And TBH, this time of year that's no easy feat, because: allergies. Undoubtedly, they bring on red, itchy eyes and irritated, puffy nose. “It’s really important to me that I don’t let my allergies hold me back,” she says, which is why she reaches for Claritin, which she says "has kept my drippy-eyes and other allergy symptoms under control for years." In addition, she has an easily replicable beauty routine. Here's how to copy it.

“I kept seeing homemade coffee grind scrubs on my Instagram feed. So I threw a girls night and things got really witchy!” she tells me. “I’ll add a little bit of coconut oil, but not too much because I like the scrub to be dry, and some essential oils for scent and then I’ll slather it on my legs.”
