Ever tried to make a cocktail at home, and been disappointed it doesn’t feel mixologist-level? (*Everyone shakes their heads.*) Here’s a tip: It might be because you’re not using the freshest ingredients.
Take herbs, for example. Beyond making DIY drinks more photo-worthy, they add bright, herbaceous, gorgeous flavor to any beverage or dish. So in the spirit of being able to make a round of extra-special sips whenever the urge hits, blogger and shop owner Chloe MacKintosh is breaking down how to plant herbs right in your kitchen.
Her go-tos are fresh mint, rosemary, and thyme (all great for cooking delicious homemade meals or even to decorate a charcuterie board, just saying). And growing them right on your own counter or windowsill is actually really simple with her genius tips.
Because a garnish can’t make a cocktail by itself, though, MacKintosh loves this recipe for a Peach Iced Tea featuring Plume & Petal™ Peach Wave—a refreshing vodka infused with natural flavors including white peach, lavender, and black tea—with a fresh mint sprig and a peach slice for that profesh-looking (and tasting) result.
Snag the recipe below, then watch the video for MacKintosh’s tutorial on how to plant herbs in your kitchen.
