Once upon a time, I spent close to an hour perfecting my makeup looks. I’d take my time applying foundation, blending out tri-color lid looks, attempting smudged eyeliner, and trying my hand at over-lined lips. It was tedious and never felt 100 percent right for me (especially because I never quite mastered the perfectly-blended smoky eye), so eventually, I ditched my over-involved beauty routine in favor of the no-makeup makeup look.

Now, I apply my beloved CLE CCC Cream, dot on concealer where necessary (currently loving the NARS Soft Matte Complete Concealer ($32)), brush up my brows with the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Freeze Extreme Hold Laminated-Look Sculpting Wax ($23), fill them in with my must-have Urban Decay Brow Blade ($28), apply a black wing tip, and swipe on some mascara.

But of course, even a no-makeup makeup look isn’t complete without a pop of color, so I never go anywhere without blush and some kind of lip. And—oh man, let me tell you—I think I’ve found my perfect summer 2023 combo in the new Lawless Juicy Watermelon Collection.

The 4-piece collection includes the Lawless Forget The Filler Lip Plumper Line Smoothing Gloss ($26), Lawless Forget the Filler Lip-Plumping Line-Smoothing Tinted Lip Balm ($26), Lawless Forget The Filler Overnight Lip Plumping Mask ($22), and the Lawless Make Me Blush Talc-Free Velvet Blush ($29)—all in the brand-new Juicy Watermelon shade (and scent—it smells so good!).

The blush—which is already at the top of my summer beauty rotation—is richly pigmented and buttery soft, which makes it so easy to apply. Though it appears to be slightly shimmery in the packaging, it somehow doesn't look like you've swiped your face in glitter once it's on. It delivers a strong-but-buildable pop of color with just the right amount of lit-from-within radiance.

The lip offerings are equally as deserving of praise. While hot pink in hue, they glide on with just a sheer tint, giving lips a nice, glossy sheen with a little bit of plumping action. I've long loved the Lawless Forget the Filler Lip Plumper Line Smoothing Gloss (which comes in 11 other shades)  for its uniquely-curved applicator tip, which allows you to cover your full lips with product in just a single swipe. Additionally, the formula is infused with plumping hyaluronic acid, hydrating and soothing shea butter, and the brand’s trademarked MAXI-LIP™, which is said to increase lip volume by 40 percent. When I apply this gloss, my lips feel deeply hydrated and look notably fuller, with a wow-worthy shine factor sans any stickiness. And now that it comes in a hot pink tint, I’ll be wearing it even more often.

I've started wearing the Juicy Watermelon Line Smoothing Gloss on top of the Forget the Filler Lip-Plumping Line-Smoothing Tinted Lip Balm, and the two together deliver double the plumping benefits while softening my lips with rosa canina fruit oil. Plus, when you layer two hot pink-tinted lip products, the color payoff is even more pigmented, but somehow still looks natural enough to compliment my 'no-makeup makeup' vibes.

As for the overnight mask, I'm not totally sure why one would want to wear a tinted lip balm while they slept, but that doesn't mean I won't continue to wear it until I run out. I've loved the original Lawless Overnight Lip Plumping Mask for years, thanks to the fact that it's soft (not sticky) and makes my lips look healthy and smooth, but think I'll stick to the colorless version in the future. For anyone looking to create ultra kissable-looking lips before bed, though, this stuff is a great option.
