According to real estate pub The Real Deal, Lululemon just signed a lease for a nearly 16,000-square-foot space on Fifth Avenue at 17th Street, in the Flatiron District.

The deal comes after the recent opening of the brand's first men's store in Soho, in November, and the news that it will open a smaller store in the shopping complex Brookfield Place, near 1 World Trade Center, soon.

But an opening in the Flatiron is especially significant because it will place the yoga pant mega-brand on what is quickly becoming "Athleisure Row" (yup, that's what we're calling it), within blocks of Athleta, GapFit, Nike, and New Balance.

Not to mention the high concentration of workout spots in the neighborhood (which we dubbed the "Fitness District" because it so is), growing denser by the day. The question is: How will Lululemon possibly pick ambassadors with about a million star trainers teaching nearby? —Lisa Elaine Held
