“Riverdale” Star Madelaine Petsch Beat Meat-Loving Gordon Ramsay in a Vegan Cook-Off

Gordon Ramsay might be a renowned chef, but he still needs a little practice when it comes to plant-based cooking. In April, the super toque shocked the world by tweeting his plans to "give this vegan thing a try," but after Riverdale star and outspoken vegan Madelaine Petsch recently challenged him to a cook-off, it's clear the actress might have to give him some lessons first.

To celebrate the new season of MasterChef, the duo teamed up for a mystery-box challenge, and to Ramsay's dismay, the box contained some items with which he wasn't too familiar: dates, kelp noodles—which he says look like his "granddad's armpits"—and tofu, or as he puts it, his "grandma's loofa." The meat-loving chef ultimately put together a cauliflower steak dish while Petsch created some light and healthy pasta.

While Ramsay's meal earned comments of being "bulky and hefty," Petsch's dish—inclusive of kelp noodles in a pesto made from kale, pine nuts, hair-boosting nutritional yeast, olive oil, and garlic—was called something the judge would "eat for lunch." Now if that's not a total win, what is?

Watch the whole challenge below to see the two duel it out. And, savor it while you can, because Ramsay probably won't be searing veggie steaks again anytime soon.
