The Gratitude Practice Mandy Moore Has Planned for Her Thanksgiving Dinner Party
Given her mindset, it's really no surprise that the This Is Us star's a big fan of Thanksgiving—especially one tradition in particular (and it's not breaking the wishbone).
"I don’t think there’s enough of that real talk and vulnerability in day-to-day life, and I love that that’s what this holiday engenders."
“What I love most about a Thanksgiving is that moment in time where the meal stops and everyone goes around the table and it’s sort of a year in review and you talk about what you’re grateful for,” shared Moore at a Friendsgiving luncheon presented by the American Express Blue Cash Everyday Card. “I don’t think there’s enough of that real talk and vulnerability in day-to-day life, and I love that that’s what this holiday engenders. That’s my favorite tradition of any sort of holiday like this.”
So what's Moore most thankful for this year? “The health and happiness for the people in my life that I love and am close to, first and foremost.” And although she and fiancé Taylor Goldsmith aren’t yet hosting their own Thanksgiving—they’re attending his parents’ as they have the last two years—Moore says she'll make sure the gratitude practice happens during the course of the day. “I love what comes out of it, and I just feel like putting that energy out into the world…there’s not enough of it.” Passing the good vibes and the turkey? Sounds like a plan.
