The Universe Is Packing Its Own Fireworks This Week—In the Form of Potent Astrological Transits

As we celebrate the Fourth of July this year, the cosmos delivers its own fireworks display. Sunday, July 4, boasts the sun in Cancer, squaring Chiron in Aries. The sun represents our life-force energy, while Chiron is the wounded healer. This square suggests that the holiday will bring an opportunity to choose a fresh perspective and a new response to an old story. While the content that emerges may feel ancient or historical, you are poised to respond from a wiser place within.

Meanwhile, Mars in Leo opposes Saturn and squares Uranus, unleashing a dynamic potential for a new reality to emerge. But here's the deal: Doing so requires deep humility and grace. So, before you get your holiday swagger on, get spiritually centered because the day will likely kick up some dust, and you don't want your ego to be caught in the commotion.

Mars in Leo opposes Saturn and squares Uranus, unleashing a dynamic potential for a new reality to emerge.

Come Monday, the sun perfects its sextile to Uranus, helping you to acknowledge and integrate the creativity emerging from within. Couple this with the fact that Mercury is squaring Neptune, and it's safe to say today is an exceptional day to be out of the office and on holiday if you are about to do so. Mercury's square to Neptune (which perfects on the 6th) can be both hypnotic and confusing. That said, if you have the opportunity to chill out, take it. Rest is essential now.

In addition to Mercury squaring Neptune, Tuesday brings with it another complicated astrological aspect: Venus, in Leo, now opposes Saturn, and like Mars, she too will soon square Uranus.

2021 is a year that bridges the gap between what's no longer and what is yet to come. The square between Uranus and Saturn (in play for all of 2021 and into 2022) represents this shift from an astrological perspective. And now, with Venus intermingling in this dynamic, we can begin to see the forest for the trees. Venus brings a sense of magnanimous love and urges us to give and receive generously. She also helps us connect to our desires again, which is incredibly important to rediscover ourselves post lockdown.

Meanwhile, on Wednesday, Venus trines Chiron, solidifying a connection between our healing journey and our most desired outcomes.

With the moon waning back to new, take time mid-week to discern what you are letting go of, and begin to think about what you'd like to call in this new moon. Thursday brings some cacophonic vibes, but you can focus on cleaning things up and getting whatever you can to completion.

The most exciting opportunity in the week ahead resides in the new moon in Cancer at 18°, which occurs on July 9 at 9:16 p.m., ET. This new moon ushers another critical turning point. With Venus and Mars soon to conjoin next week (a very promising connection), this new moon is the perfect time to take some space for yourself and listen deeply to your inner voice. Cancer is a cardinal water sign, and this is the first new moon of the new season. So, as we enter a fresh, new chapter, and this topsy-turvy year full of hairpin turns, and nuance sets sail in the direction of the celebration, take time to tend to you. There's so much to be excited about again, and there's so much to grieve too. Be gentle and kind.
