As a beauty lover, there's nothing like the serotonin boost I get from a product that provides instant gratification, and the new Pore Zero Peeling Mousse from brand Neogen gives me just that. This mask cleans out your pores in seconds but without the pain (or potential damage) of the Bioré strips of yore.

The Neogen Pore Zero Peeling Mousse ($31) is the new-and-improved version of Neogen's Pore Tight Peeling Mousse ($29), which launched last year and quickly went viral, amassing a 26,000 person waitlist. Unlike the original, the new mousse has a vegan formula that comes with more pore-cleaning capabilities. Plus, the bottle is a bit bigger, so you get more bang for your buck.

The best part of this product is that it's super gentle, yet effective. Unlike mechanical pore cleaners (pore strips, pore vaccuums, etc.), which essentially physically suck the gunk out of your skin, this formula is made with chemical exfoliants that get deep into your pores to break up the dirt and debris and then clear it away. As an added benefit, it also leaves skin looking visibly brighter and more refreshed.

There are four key ingredients that make all of this possible. White willow bark water softens dead skin cells and cleanses pores, while drumstick seed (also known as moringa) extract works to absorb dirt, sebum, and heavy metals. Then, broadleaf plantain extract lumps this waste together to make it easy to remove. And Beauactive, a bioactive cosmetic ingredient, visibly reduces the appearance of pores and age spots by boosting elasticity.

To use this exfoliator, start with dry skin. Shake the bottle, spray the mousse into your hands, and gently pat it around your face. Once it's recently dispersed, you rub it in until the mousse starts to disappear and the product pills up, buffing away dead skin cells and bringing dirt and gunk out of your pores up to the surface. Wash your face with warm water to reveal a refreshed visage.

When I tried the peeling mousse for myself, it buffed away some of the harmless-yet-annoying sebaceous filaments (which are often confused with blackheads) around my nose. The removal was swift and painless, and I love that it left my skin feeling super clean without any irritation. If you're also a major fan of products that do their thing right before your eyes, go ahead and add the Neogen Pore Zero Peeling Mousse to your cart.
