Our Commerce Editor Found the Best Beauty Deals at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale
The sale is so massive, it can feel overwhelmingly infinite if you don't do your homework ahead of time. Add that to the fact that inventory goes faster than you can say "La Mer," and you'll be glad that we put together a handy guide of how to shop it.
My favorite starting point is the beauty section, since the Anniversary Sale offers some of the best luxury makeup, skin care, and hair care deals of the year. I’m personally using the sale as an excuse to refresh my own collection as well as try several coveted items I have on my ever-growing wish list.
The Anniversary Sale runs from July 28 to August 8 both in stores and online. However, Nordy Cardmembers get early access starting July 12, depending on your cardholder level. Go ahead and bookmark this page, since I’ll be updating it on the regular with all the new beauty product adds.
Behold: 15 of the best beauty deals from the 2021 Nordstrom Anniversary sale

Both dry shampoo and texturizing spray are the key to having bouncy, shiny hair that looks like you just blow dried it that morning (nobody has to know you haven’t washed your hair in three days—nobody). I tend to simultaneously use both dry shampoo to absorb excess oil and texturizing spray to give my hair some body, and it never feels too heavy. And let’s just say I don’t even have to wear perfume on the days I use Oribe products.

Stila’s Stay All Day liquid eyeliner has passed a couple vital tests: 1. It’s lasted through those muggy, hot days that leave you perpetually soaked with sweat (I’m just being real here). 2. It failed to smudge through many episodes of This Is Us (aka, a major sobfest). With its thin and precise tip, it takes little effort to draw on an even, bold line. It’s been my go-to for years, and I love that the ink lasts for months. Two full-size eyeliners for $32 is one heck of a steal.

This is a new one for me, but I figured since masks aren’t going away any time soon, I might as well invest in a couple more eyeshadow palettes. I love that this comes in a turnkey set that includes six usable shades of eyeshadow, a bronzing powder and blush, gel eyeliner, and mascara. I’ve always had good luck with Bobbi Brown makeup, so I’m excited to give this a whirl.

Since I’m generally pretty lazy when it comes to my nighttime routine, I love that Fresh’s Soy cleanser multi-tasks as a makeup remover as well as an effective face wash that leaves your skin feeling clean, but not completely stripped of its natural oils. This set comes with a travel-sized option so you can take it everywhere you go. I got this exact same set last year, and I’ll definitely be buying again.

I already sung my praises for this pretty blue potion in our Nordstrom Anniversary Sale wellness product roundup, but I’ll do it again, because it’s worth double the swoon. As someone with oily skin, I’m hesitant when it comes to face oils, since some can really do some damage and leave me broken out the next morning. Not this stuff. Since the oil is on the more dry side, it absorbs nicely, and leaves my skin looking brighter and healthier when I wake up. Since it’s normally pricey, I’m snagging a bottle while it’s $41.50 off right now.

This one is on my list of “must tries”. I’m always on the hunt for a hydrating and brightening serum I can layer underneath my go-to moisturizers, and I’ve read only amazing things about this one, especially that it helps with the absorption of the products layered on top, so that your skin isn’t missing out on any nutrients. Along with boosting radiance and elasticity, the serum has potent anti-aging properties as well.

You can fully experience Tula’s nourishing probiotic-based formula in their Cult Classic Purifying cleanser, Moisture Hydrating Day and Night cream, and the Rose Glow and Get It Cooling and Brightening eye balm. If your main focus is getting your glow on and keep your skin hydrated (whether you’re up against aggressive A/C or a harsh, dry winter), this is a set that’ll be in your daily skin-care arsenal year-round.

About once a month, I exfoliate my scalp with Briogeo’s best-selling Scalp Revival shampoo, and it helps clear product buildup (I’m looking at you, dry shampoo) and leaves my hair feeling a lot healthier and refreshed. What I haven’t tried yet is Briogeo’s Healthy Hair Wonders set, which includes a leave-in conditioner, hair mask, strengthening hair oil, and a deep-conditioning mask—all things I need for my naturally frizzy hair that’s suffered some hair dye and heat damage over the years.

RMS literally invented the word “luminizer,” so Rose Marie Swift know a thing or two about creating that natural, sun-kissed look (in the most effortless way possible). Every RMS Beauty product I’ve ever tried is high-quality, has just the right amount of pigment, and always proves to be long-lasting. This Summer Essentials kit will probably be my go-to until it’s too cold to go to the beach anymore.

Shiseido has beauty down to a literal science, and offers some of the highest quality, most effective products on the market. If you’re on the hunt for an eye cream, I love that this set targets different types of eye wrinkles, including stress and under-puff lines (which I’ve personally been combatting, thanks to hot nights and eager dogs who want to go on a walk the second the sun rises).

Since all of Jo Malone’s perfumes are gorgeous, it’s hard to pick a new one because, well, you’ll want them all. This discovery set gives you the opportunity of trying out scents you may not have tried before, and they’re travel-sized, so you can bring them with you on vacation, work, or just on-the-go for a re-spritz. The set includes my favorite, Nectarine Blossom and Honey, along with English Pear and Freesia, Wild Bluebell, Peony and Blush Suede, and Wood Sage and Sea Salt.

Now is the time to restock on Estée Lauder’s Advanced Night Repair serum, or give it a try if you’ve never experienced the sorcery that is this rejuvenating formula. This set comes with a full-size bottle of the Synchronized Multi-Recovery Complex Serum and Eye Supercharged Complex Synchronized Recovery treatment for $90, which is quite a deal. Both work overtime into the night to reduce wrinkles and fine lines, and leave skin smoother and brighter in the morning.

Sunday Riley’s cult-favorite Good Genes serum is the holy grail bottle in my skin-care arsenal, and now I can stop using teeny-tiny dollops of the stuff to stretch out the remaining drops I have left. Good Genes is great for gentle exfoliation—its formula (led with lactic acid) helps slough away dead skin, and leaves your face softer, brighter, and clearer. It truly works its magic overnight. This set comes with a full-size and travel-size bottle, so I can bring it with me everywhere I go.

This three-piece set features a full-size bottle Full Spectrum Sun Silk Drops which are ideal for protecting your face from UV rays, a travel-size bottle of Refreshing Water Mist sunscreen, and a travel-size spray bottle of the Classic Sunscreen. We love Coola’s award-winning formula, and that these bottles are so easy to carry with wherever we go (hopefully on vacation).

Choose between an ethereal White Vetiver (cashmere with eucalyptus blended with an earthier cedar wood) or Charcoal (a smokey sandalwood with notes of amber and vetiver), and you can’t go wrong. Aside from the divine scents, we love how the candle and diffusers look (yeah, we’re being a little vain here). Apotheke is known for its nuanced, long-lasting fragrances. Get this set (worth $90) while it’s on sale.
