I'm no Gordon Ramsay or Rachael Ray, but I know how to cook a thing or two. Whether it's scrambled eggs with chorizo and cheese, or a croissant sandwich with kale and harissa sauce, you'll always catch me whipping up something juicy in the kitchen. When I cook, I usually prepare meals for myself. As of late, the pan I've been using has been too bulky and heavy for single-serving meals, making cooking a hassle rather than an enjoyable craft. However, all of that changed when I stumbled upon Our Place's recently launched Mini Always Pan ($86) and Perfect Pot ($93).

What I love about the Mini Always Pan

The mini pan is just like the original Always Pan, but tinier in size. While the pan is smaller, I wouldn't recommend underestimating its size. It's been big enough for me to cook eggs, stir fry veggies, and heat smaller food items, yet small enough to prepare single-serving meals. What I love about this pan in particular is that it's lightweight, but sturdy enough to handle any type of cooking I'm doing, whether it's flipping pancakes or sautéing onions and garlic. Plus, it comes with a wooden spatula (a nice extra to prevent pan scratches).

Another notable feature is the built-in sprout and lid, which makes the process of draining liquids less of a hassle. Not to mention, it's coated in non-stick, ceramic coating and is free of not-so-good chemicals like PFOAs, PTFEs, PFAs, lead, cadmium, and other toxic metals. The non-stick surface makes flipping eggs and clean up easy peasy lemon squeeze-y. All I have to do? Add soap to my sponge, do a one-two scrub, and the roasted bits come right out.

Of course, the mini collection wouldn't be complete without the Perfect Pot. Unlike the original, this pot is tinier (it holds 2.5 quarts of liquid compared to 5.5 quarts), but can handle boiling a few eggs, cooking fun-shaped pasta, and preparing sauces. Similar to the mini pan, it comes with a lid and built-in sprout to drain liquids, and features a longer handle, which doubles as a spoon rest, so I don't have to worry about burning myself whenever things get steamy.

The mini duo have just as much to offer as their original counterparts while saving on space (a dream for those of us with small kitchens). And for me, personally, Our Place's mini pan and pot has made cooking enjoyable again. Since using them, they've become a staple in my cooking arsenal, and I plan to use both on repeat.
