If you're a foodie, you know blenders are one of the most underrated kitchen essentials. You can make anything from smoothies to salad dressings to soups—especially if you invest in a good one.

Registered dietitians Lauren Manaker, MS, RDN, LD, and Amy Shapiro, MS, RD, CDN, both agree that some of the best blenders in the game come from Vitamix, a brand known for their high-performance blending machines.

However, they're definitely not the cheapest blenders on the market—most of them are professional grade, after all—so if the price tag has been holding you back from grabbing one, we have good news for you: Right the Vitamix Explorian 2.0 blender is seriously discounted, along with a ton of other products during the QVC Spring Friends & Family Sale. You've got to act quick though, because the QVC Vitamix sale ends at 11:59 p.m. ET on Sunday, April 28.

Benefits of a Vitamix blender

Both Manaker and Shapiro noted that power of a Vitamix is what truly makes it stand out compared to other blenders. Where you might be stuck adding more and more liquid to another blender to make sure it smoothly melds all your ingredients together (which can honestly get really annoying), the Vitamix consistently makes an even blend out of even the toughest ingredients, like nuts.

"The Vitamix is a versatile appliance that is incredibly durable and dependable, making it one of my favorite things in the kitchen," Manaker says. "Not only do I love it for smoothies, but it also does a fantastic job helping [to] make soups and homemade nut butter. Although I don't use it in this capacity, it is pretty impressive that it can be used to grind coffee beans, too."

Another selling point for both RDs is the versatility of uses of a Vitamix. "In a New York City apartment, having an appliance that can do more than just one thing really prevents my kitchen from being cluttered," Shapiro says. "Basically, my Vitamix makes my life easier from my morning smoothie to lunch soups and dinner sauces and purees."

Shapiro noted that some of her clients had complained about the clean-up involved with a blender after you use it. Vitamix blenders are relatively easy to clean, according to both Shapiro and Manaker, since they're self-cleaning. After use, simply blend warm water and a drop of dish soap at the blender's highest speed and it'll be clean in 60 seconds or less, according to the Vitamix website. Easy peasy!

Vitamix blenders might be an investment, but it'll be worth the money when it lasts you for years to come—especially if you buy it during the QVC Vitamix Explorian sale. Keep scrolling to see some of the blenders you could be saving on.
