At Well+Good, we write about our favorite wellness products a lot (like, please don’t get us started on the winners of our recent 2025 Beauty Awards). But now, for the first time ever, you can shop our editor-approved favorites in real life at the Well+Good Shop, launching this June in Los Angeles. Think of it as your ultimate feel-good emporium, where every product—from beauty and fitness to tech and style—has been tested by our editorial team, vetted by our industry experts, and hand-placed in the Well+Good Shop for its top-notch efficacy.
And one product we knew had to make the cut? The Hyperice Hypervolt Go 2 massage gun, one of our 2025 Health Tech Award winners and a permanent fixture in our post-workout recovery routine. Whether your muscles are sore post-workout, or you just slept a little funny last night (relatable), there’s truly no better feeling than getting a tension-relieving massage—which is where a massage gun comes in clutch. And of the many, many massage guns we tried during our awards testing, we found ourselves truly obsessed with the Hypervolt Go 2.
Our review of the Hyperice Hypervolt Go 2
First: It’s noticeably lighter than most massage guns—just 1.5 pounds—so your arm won’t get as tired while you’re using it, and it’s also small enough to toss in a weekender bag without sacrificing half your packing space. It also doesn’t come with a dozen overwhelming attachments (just two standard heads, with a third heated head sold separately), which we honestly appreciated, since it made the tool easier to use straight out of the box—no app required, no pressure sensor to figure out. Just turn it on and go.
The power is also legit: We found it delivered strong, percussive vibrations that helped loosen up tension in the shoulders, back, and thighs of all of our testers—even one with chronic muscular pain. And it’s way quieter than you'd expect, especially if you’ve tried one of the bulkier, more industrial-sounding models. One of our editors swears it helped melt away stubborn shoulder knots in a single night (we’re not promising miracles, but it is that good).
And now, you can try it for yourself at the Well+Good Shop before committing—which, honestly, feels like a luxury in a sea of wellness products that usually require a leap of faith.
Pros:
- Compared to other massage guns, this model is a lot lighter (only 1.5 pounds!) and more compact, so it’s an excellent travel-sized option.
- Comes with two massage heads, plus a third heated one you can purchase separately (and we highly recommend doing so).
- It costs less than $200, making it a more budget-friendly option.
- It’s FSA and HSA eligible.
Cons:
- It only comes with two attachments, so if you want them, you’ll have to purchase some of the massage heads separately.
- Unlike other Hyperice massage guns, it doesn’t connect to the Hyperice App.
