At Well+Good, we treat shopping like it’s our job—because it basically is. Which means we regularly test tons of wellness products every week to find out how well they actually hold up to our ultra-picky standards. For every piece of equipment that enters our orbit, we don’t just do our research; we also physically test each product and rigorously evaluate it for design quality, performance, and user experience. Our goal? To help readers cut through the noise of false promises and social-media hype. And now, for the first time ever, you can shop all of our editor-approved and expert-vetted picks in person at the Well+Good Shop, opening this June in Los Angeles.
We’ve filled the feel-good emporium with all of our favorite tried-and-true products, including the best beauty, fitness, tech, and style selections to up the ante on your well-being routine. One product we’re racing (literally) to share in the shop? The NordicTrack X24 Treadmill, winner of “best treadmill” in our 2025 Health Tech Awards. This wellness tech is the ultimate at-home treadmill, offering lots of running and walking workouts designed to immerse you in cardio with the help of an incredibly clear 24-inch screen display.
Our review of the NordicTrack X24 Treadmill
Yes, there are dozens of smart treadmills on the market, but in our testing, we found that none quite compared to the NordicTrack X24 Treadmill. This treadmill elevated our home workout routine with features like a 24-inch touchscreen that connects to the app iFit, so we were able to access trainer-led workouts to make our sweat sessions way more visually stimulating. Our testers also noted a more comfortable run, thanks to the treadmill’s cushioned deck that helps absorb impact to be less harsh on the joints (similar to a soft dirt trail). The treadmill can also reach a six percent decline and a 40 percent incline—which, fyi, is much steeper than most home treadmills, where incline levels typically range from an average of 11 to 15 percent.
Pros:
- The treadmill can adjust to a 40 percent incline and 6 percent decline to simulate uphill and downhill runs, jogs, and walks
- It has a speed range up to 12mph (or a five-minute mile)
- The cushioned deck can absorb impact, similar to soft dirt trails, so it’s less harsh on the joints (and a great way to train for trail runs)
- Has a large 24-inch touch screen for trainer-led workouts and a more immersive exercise experience
Cons:
- It’s not as compact as a walking pad, if you have a tight space
- An iFit subscription costs $40/month (or $396/year) and is required to use all of the workouts
