By Chloe’s co-founder is giving another cuisine the healthy, grab-and-go treatment

There’s another New York City hot spot with a line out the door—and sweet potato fries aren’t even on the menu. Last night, By Chloe co-founder Samantha Wasser and chef Ali LaRaia unveiled a whole new grab-and-go concept with the opening of The Sosta.

“The idea came from road-tripping through Italy and being able to stop at the gas station and getting really good coffee and pasta at an affordable price.”

Located on a busy Nolita street, The Sosta has the same, fun Instagrammable vibe as By Chloe, but instead of serving vegan burgers, everything is inspired by authentic Italian cuisine. Along with fresh pasta, there’s roasted cauliflower, focaccia sandwiches, and yes, meatballs. And if you’re sticking to an anti-inflammatory meal plan, you won’t be left out: gluten-free pasta and zoodles are also on the menu. And in true continental fashion, there’s also a wine list. Oh, and it’s super affordable with prices ranging from $8 to $12.

“The idea came from road-tripping through Italy and being able to stop at the gas stations, called auto grills, and getting really good coffee and pasta at an affordable price,” LaRaia says. “It was pretty incredible to be able to pull over and have an amazing, wholesome meal right on the side of the road.” When she got back to NYC, she realized that the city was lacking a grab-and-go Italian spot with clean ingredients, so she teamed up with Wasser.
