Okay, so they’re not exactly edible in their original form, but according to a new Instagram and Pinterest trend, succulent cakes are officially a thing, and they’re amazing. The too-pretty-to-want-to-cut cakes seem to have originated at Jakarta-based bakery Iven Oven, and have since started popping all over the world.

If you’re planning to do a little more than just look at them, a friendly PSA: The reason these succulent cakes look so beautiful and lifelike has to do with copious amounts of buttercream (and seriously talented cake decorators and bakers).
