The Mindfulness Practice Many Highly Successful People Share
Tim Ferriss, self-help guru and author of The 4-Hour Workweek, has spent the past year interviewing professionals at the top of their field. He found that most of the 140 successful folks with whom he spoke share a common practice: they meditate.
"Meditation or mindfulness practice is really about, to me, decreasing emotional reactivity so you can proactively create your day and create your life." —Tim Ferriss, self-help author
"Despite the fact that these are people [who work in everything from] tennis and surfing to cryptocurrency and fill-in-the-blank—like any field you can possibly imagine—some type of morning mindfulness or meditation practice spanned, I'd say, 90 percent of the respondents," he told Business Insider.
And it's really not surprising, considering the practice offers plenty of benefits that can help you go far in your career. Meditation has not only been shown to boost creativity levels, but it also packs plenty of health perks, like decreased stress and anxiety.
"Meditation or mindfulness practice is really about, to me, decreasing emotional reactivity so you can proactively create your day and create your life," Ferriss said, adding that without that grounding force, you may be more prone to act impulsively or reflexively.
So, take advantage of the age-old practice that nearly 140 super-successful people swear by in order to set yourself up to reach full #bossbabe potential.
Here's how to create a meditation space in your home. Or, go on an dreamy-yet-affordable meditation retreat.
