These Are Kelsea Ballerini’s New Favorite Lululemon Leggings—And Ours Too
Once you put them on, you’ll barely even notice you’re wearing them.

Exercise offers tons of mental and physical health benefits on its own, but a workout can become *so* much better with the right outfit. The confidence a cute workout set gives you helps you eek out that last deadlift rep or dial up the treadmill speed during the final minute of your run.
My newest favorite addition to my workout wardrobe? Lululemon’s new Align No Line High-Rise Pant, which doesn't have any hard seams. I love the brand’s older version of Aligns, so I was sure this latest style would earn my stamp of approval. Plus, country singer Kelsea Ballerini is a fan, too, so if they’re good enough for her, I absolutely had to try them out for myself.
Read on for my honest review of these seamless leggings, which take the cake for the softest, lightest pair I’ve ever worn.

These leggings are made with no front-rise seam, which gives a smooth look and feel. The fabric is smooth, stretchy, and lightweight, meaning you barely notice you’re even wearing pants (as opposed to thick and compressive fabric that tend to dig into your skin).
Pros:
- Stretchy and lightweight for ultimate comfort
- Buttery soft fabric
- Available in two lengths
- Sweat-wicking and breathable
Cons:
- Pricey
- Runs large
- Only one small waistband pocket
Qualities I look for in leggings
As someone who’s been a fitness writer and editor for a decade and has been active my entire life, I’ve tested and purchased more leggings than I can count. All that’s to say I have a pretty high bar when it comes to how leggings should fit and feel.
First off, if a pair of leggings feels heavy and is so compressive that they dig into me, it’s safe to say I’m not a huge fan. When I exercise—whether I’m lifting weights, walking, running, or indoor cycling—I want to be focusing on my workout and not how uncomfortable I feel in the clothes I’m wearing. To add onto that, these types of leggings are usually tough to get on—the tight, thick fabric calls for shimmying them up your legs like a pair of tights. I find the thinner and lighter the fabric is, the easier they are to pull on.
A brand also wins my heart if they offer leggings in multiple length options (i.e., petite, regular, and tall or 25- and 28-inch inseams). I’m 5'2'' on a good day, so I love having the ability to opt for a shorter length instead of being forced to cuff my leggings or wear tall socks to hide the fact that they’re too long.
Last, my leggings have to stay put. While being too tight is a pain—literally and figuratively—the last thing I want is to be tugging them up every few minutes in between squats or sprints on the treadmill.
My honest review of why I love these leggings
The Lululemon Align No Line High-Rise Pant has all the qualities I look for in a pair of leggings. The first thing I noticed when I pulled them out of the packaging was how buttery smooth and stretchy the fabric was. This is thanks to the brand’s proprietary Nulu fabric—a blend of nylon and Lycra elastane.
When I first put these leggings on for a three-mile walk outside, I noticed how light they were and how I was barely aware of them on my body. The best part? Thanks to how breathable they are, I didn’t find myself overly sweaty during the Northeast’s humid summer weather.
The feature that really sets these leggings apart from other options at Lululemon, including the previous version of the brand’s Align collection, is there’s no front-rise seam. This design ensures the waistband lies flat on your stomach and doesn’t dig in, providing max comfort.
These No Line Align leggings come in seven colors (like Pool Party Blue, Warm Ash Gray, and Goodnight Plum), two lengths (a 25- and 28-inch inseam), and seven sizes (0 to 12). The 25-inch length fit perfectly on me, hitting right at my ankles. But if you’re taller than average, the 28-inch length may fit more like 7/8-leggings. If you’re shorter than 5 feet, these leggings may be a tiny bit long for you.
Lululemon markets these leggings for lower-impact activities like yoga, so they’re not meant to be compressive. But when I wore them for higher-impact workouts, like a Barry’s class with running and weightlifting, they stayed in place the entire time.

My slight critiques
Perhaps because of the sleek design of these leggings, the only pocket it has is a small one on the waistband that can only hold a key or a credit card. If you prefer larger side pockets for your phone, for instance, Lululemon’s other pants, like the Wunder Train High-Rise Tight, might be a better option for you.
There’s also room for more size inclusivity, as some brands go up to a 6XL, but I will say these leggings run a bit large, so you might want to size down anyway. For reference, I’m typically a size 6, occasionally an 8. I ordered a 6, but if I wanted slightly more compression, I definitely could have sized down to a 4.
My last drawback, aside from limited sizing and lack of pockets, is how expensive they are at $108. While they’re definitely worth the price if you can comfortably afford them, not everyone can. Clothes that cost as much as your weekly grocery haul are no doubt hard to justify buying—for some people, they're often reserved for special occasions or as little treats.
Final thoughts
Even though there are a few cons to these leggings that may be dealbreakers for some, I found them to be the most comfortable pair I’ve ever worked out in, no matter which activities I did, thanks to their seamless design and soft, lightweight fabric. But don’t just take my word for it. Be sure to snag a pair of your own before they sell out.
