Buti established a home base last week with the opening of its first stand-alone studio, The Butik, in Santa Monica.

The workout—which was created by trainer Bizzie Gold and melds yoga, tribal dance, and plyometrics—is popular on the West Coast and is now taught at gyms and yoga and fitness studios in 15 states across the country, including select Crunch locations. Jennifer Love Hewitt and Julia Roberts are both big fans.

Rather than churning out group classes, The Butik (1514 17th St.), will focus on creating tailored programs for individual members, with workouts limited to personal and small-group training.

Each member will get a customized workout and nutrition plan, consultations with Gold, and access to a health concierge for services like grocery shopping, meal delivery, and alt-health treatments.

Buti’s booty-shaking method is currently hard to find in New York (there are five classes per week—one at Crunch and four at small, independent studios), but if the brand continues to grow, that may change soon. —Lisa Elaine Held
