It used to be that swish in-room soaps were the perk of a stay at a great resort. Now, on your next trip, you might check out with new Nike running gear in your suitcase.

That’s the current offering at the Fairmont Miramar Hotel & Bungalows in Santa Monica, which has teamed up with the sports-apparel giant on a package that’s meant to appeal to runners and the fitness-focused traveler. (It’s succeeding in our case.)

The “Just Do It” package includes luxe accommodations at the Fairmont Miramar, plus Nike running socks, water bottles, and a NIKE+ FuelBand (value of $150). While more hotels are loaning you workout gear, this is the first we’ve heard of it becoming a take-home amenity.

The package also comes with get access to running maps (of a Pacific coast route, of course), a yoga class and a sports massage for two at Exhale Spa, and a healthy breakfast for two at Chef Ray Garcia’s farm-to-table restaurant, Fig.

Interestingly, Nike also seems to be underwriting the stay, not just the sporty amenities, since the “Just Do It” package starts at $579 per night (plus taxes and fees), and we get a rack rate of 50 percent more than that when we do the math.

Let’s hope this idea catches on at other health-minded resorts. —Melisse Gelula
