Dawna StoneDawna Stone is the founding publisher of Women’s Running—but she wasn’t always a model of health and fitness.

Prior to her foray into wellness, Stone worked in the high-stress environment of a Wall Street investment bank, where she became out of shape and gained 40 pounds.

After trying every diet plan and failing, Stone developed her own 14-day diet program that eliminates sugar, wheat, dairy, highly processed foods, red meat, and alcohol—which she promptly released in a book titled, Healthy You.

Now an author, the winner of The Apprentice: Martha Stewart (ha!), and a diehard juicer, Stone has shed those 40 pounds and is living life to the fullest.

“I love vegetables but I could never consume enough to match the nutrients I get from juicing,” she says. “Juicing makes me feel healthy and energized. With my busy schedule, it’s the perfect way to start the day.”

Healthy You Super Green Juice

4 large kale leaves
1 small green apple
1 stalk celery
1/2 cucumber
1/2 lemon

In a juicer, juice all the ingredients and serve in a tall glass. If you enjoy your juice really cold, pour over ice. Serves one.
