Okay, so we’ve all established that coffee is, in fact, good for us. (Go ahead, do an extra hyped-up happy dance.)

But there’s a way to make it even healthier, beyond just going Bulletproof on it or mixing it with homemade macadamia-almond milk, which lots of wellness tastemakers—and even celebs, like Jesse Tyler Ferguson—have started doing.

Take, for instance, the Shroom Shake at Hollywood’s Lifehouse Tonics: Along with coffee, coconut oil, and two kinds of nut milk and nut butters, the drink also includes over a dozen superfoods, including loads of magic mushrooms. (No, not that kind.)

And, good news for those not in Los Angeles: The functional smoothie bar just made its most popular herbal powder blends available for purchase online, so you can whip up a version of this caffeinated elixir at home.

According to Lifehouse co-founder Fraser Thompson, the Destiny Unbound powder is the best match for coffee—it contains adaptogenic reishi, cordyceps, and lion’s mane mushrooms, as well as cognition-boosting herbs like ginkgo and gotu kola. “It’s our superpower brain food blend,” he explains. “Everyone likes to begin their day with coffee, but we also like to jump start our brains to get most out of each day.” (If you can’t get your hands on one of their blends, adding your favorite adaptogens will definitely do the trick—hello maca!)

Add in blood sugar-balancing mesquite and you’ve got a breakfast that’s way more potent than your average Starbucks order (sorry, purple drink).
