My Favorite Green Juice: Lexi Atkins

Lexi Atkins Rising star Lexi Atkins needs an energizing, better-than-espresso green juice.

Why? She just starred in The Boy Next Door with Jennifer Lopez, and then last week, her film Zombeavers hit theaters and On Demand.

Then next month, her CW series The Messengers premieres, and in June, you can catch her in TED 2 opposite Mark Wahlberg and Amanda Seyfried. We’re tired just thinking about all those crack-of-dawn call times.

Fortunately, she’s got natural energy covered. “My mom’s always been into juicing, Ayurvedic medicine, and a holistic approach,” says Atkins.

That’s why, when she moved to Los Angeles a few years ago, Lexi adapted really well to the wellness scene, hitting up Café Gratitude and Erewhon Natural Foods Market regularly, and serving as an ambassador for chemical-free, vegan beauty line Zao Organic Makeup and Essential Living Foods.

Every morning she preps her juicer for a long day on set, by making a blended batch of grapefruit and lemon with ginger and turmeric to give her a citrus-y boost. “When you’re tired and sluggish the turmeric helps, and I love the lemon for pH balance. Plus, the cucumber is hydrating,” she says. “I’m definitely awake after a few sips of this!” —Molly Gallagher

Wake Up Juice

One grapefruit
One lemon
A few stalks of celery
A few carrots
One large cucumber
1 lemon
1/2 tsp of E3Live BrainOn Powder
A few drops of Stevia
1 tsp of turmeric
