This month’s smoothie recipe has transporting tropical island flavor (think: coconut meat and vanilla bean)—and wellness benefits for city life and its stressors thanks to an extra special ingredient with superpowers: reishi mushroom extract.

A wellness warrior secret weapon, reishi is a potent healer with medicinal qualities. It’s an adaptogen, which means it combats the effects of physical and emotional stress. When blended with delicious coconut (for healthy fats and vegan creamy richness) and chia seeds for protein, fiber, and omega-3s, the combo provides extra fuel, energy, and stamina.

Reishi Coconut Smoothie

Blend and enjoy!

1 cup organic unsweetened almond milk
1/2 cup coconut meat (ideally purchased in chunks or learn to butcher your own)
28 drops of reishi extract (or a serving of reishi powder)
1 Tbsp raw honey
1 Tbsp chia seeds
1/2 vanilla bean (or 1 tsp vanilla extract)
