My mornings definitely vary since I have a 4-year-old, but no matter what time I wake up, the first think I do is drink an entire glass of water, usually with a slice of lemon.
I don’t really do anything beauty-wise except splash some cold water onto my face to shake away those sleepy eyes. I let the professionals take care of everything else once I get to work.
Then, [my son] Luca and I get right downstairs and I make breakfast for us. I like to mix things up throughout the week, so I’ll have eggs with a little cheese and Ezekiel toast or oatmeal with some almond butter and golden raisins. And I love bacon—I’m definitely not frugal when it comes to the bacon.
Coffee is always a priority too. I might shock you with this answer, but I use real cow’s milk. Just a little skim milk tastes so good. I usually have my first cup fresh while it’s hot and then put the rest of the pot in the fridge to make my second—or sometimes third if it’s necessary!—cup iced.
While we eat breakfast, I also take some vitamins. I’m embarrassed to say this, but I’m like my son when it comes to pills–I don’t like taking them at all. So, I break ’em open and pour them into my food, just like a multivitamin or something else—it kind of changes seasonally. I’ve been trying to grow my hair out so I’ve been taking a ton of Biotin recently.
Then, I drink a scoop of SuperGreens that I put into water or juice. It smells super gross, but when I’m working and I know I’m not getting enough vegetables, it gives me all the nutrients I might be missing. I’ve also been really into apple cider vinegar—I’ll just shoot it straight in the morning. People think it’s gross, but I kind of like the taste.
If I’m in Los Angeles, after breakfast I’ll drive Luca to school and head to my gym for a personal training session. If I’m working or in New York, I can’t schedule workouts as easily since everything is constantly changing. But I’ll try to slip into a SoulCycle class or do OrangeTheory. If things are really crazy, I try and sweat at least a little bit every day, so I’ll just go to the gym and do the treadmill or StairMaster, or just get outside and go on a run or run some stairs.
I usually foam roll at night while I watch Netflix—I’m super into Peaky Blinders and Bloodlines, they’re so good. But if I haven’t learned my lines the night before, then I do my foam rolling in the mornings—I swear to God it’s changed my life. I can’t really meditate, I’m little bit of a spazzy person, so it helps me unwind.
