In New York City, you can use UberRush to send your sweaty gym clothes home and you can get your favorite green juice ferried to your office in a stay-cold box with ice packs. So it’s about time that your workout leggings and new wicking tanks were delivered straight to your apartment (or cubicle) just a few hours after ordering them. You know, in time for tonight’s sweat sesh.
Lace Up Style, a new website selling a handful of fitness fashion by chic brands like Michi, Pilot Athletic, and Alala, just debuted with free delivery service in Manhattan, so you can get new fitness fashion styles delivered the same day you pick them out. Think of it like a mini Carbon38 with a dash of Rent the Runway.
Liz Toney, the founder of Lace Up Style, is a fashion industry alum. She works as a fashion stylist and had stints at Bergdorf Goodman, Longchamp, and Tommy Hilfiger before starting the company.
“A little over a year ago I noticed my activewear laundry pile was bigger than my everyday clothing pile,” she explains. (We can relate.) “I was spending more time shopping for new activewear and athleisure than I was for work wear and new jeans. Yet I found normcore fitness apparel really uninspiring. Like many women, I wanted something sexy and performance driven that I could wear beyond the gym,” says Toney on what inspired her to start Lace Up Style.
Here’s how the delivery works: You place an order for the styles and sizes you’re interested in trying and they’ll get it to you that same day (for free) if you place your order before 3 p.m., otherwise they’ll go out the next day. All you have to do is pick out your faves once they arrive and send the rest back within two business days.
Because, sometimes, two-day shipping just isn’t fast enough for your next spin class. —Molly Gallagher
