My Favorite Green Juice Recipe: Marlies Korijn

If Marlies Korijn has excellent taste, it’s probably because she quite literally grew up surrounded by fashion—her family owns Etam, the European retail chain. But she also grew up loving fitness and sports, so it was only natural for her to create her very own fitness fashion brand.

Korijn, 30, is the founder of Vipe, an Amsterdam based-activewear line. The clothes are gaining traction, thanks to Korijn’s eye, and some help from a former Adidas by Stella McCartney designer.

“Our focus wasn’t on one specific sport. It’s performance with a hint of fashion,” says Korijn, who felt workout clothes were all too technical, and lacking the, well, fashion, she was looking for.

As a former professional field hockey player, and current fitness fanatic—yoga, HIIT, running, boxing, you name it—it was important to her that her brand be versatile enough to go from the studio, to the street…to the kitchen, where she refuels from her workouts with this green (well, basically jade) smoothie.
