While lots of high fashion brands have been incorporating activewear into their designs and runway shows—from Chanel sneakers to Norma Kamali barre leggings—the White by Lole launch comes from the other direction, an activewear line reaching for higher fashion cred.
“The White by Lole collection is rooted in the philosophy of the brand, with a higher-end, fashion-focused approach,” says Lole marketing VP Nathalie Binda. It’s centered around the color white but also includes a neutrals, like ballet pink, beige, and black, and fabrics with silk yarn create a more luxe feel. Designs are flowy and feminine with details like lace panels, cascading folds of fabric, and layered straps.
Which isn’t surprising since Lole design director Andy Thê-Anh worked with the stylishly ethereal Brower to create pieces she would love and wear, and three pieces are specifically inspired by her. “Elena is the perfect reflection of this line, but mostly for her grace, elegance, and femininity. Her spirit embodies Lole’s studio-to-street style,” Binda says.
Of course, a premium collection is reflected on the price tag. The Vinaya leggings, for instance, are $120, compared to the popular Salutation Leggings in the regular Lole collection, which sell for $85. But you can feel good about your empty wallet: profits will be donated to community centers that promote wellness in the cities the White Tour visited.
