Gmail just got a makeover, and it includes new tools that could streamline your digital life. One feature allows you to designate top-secret emails to self-destruct after a certain amount of time, and it’s also now possible to view your calendar while combing through your inbox. Perhaps best of all? You can now continue working while offline, whether you’re flying or simply without wi-fi.

According to The Verge, Gmail’s new offline-mode makes it possible for you to use the platform even when you’re miles above ground. Yep, that means when the plane’s wi-fi doesn’t work or your personal hot spot fails you, you won’t have to wait until you have service again to get through your to-do list. Now you can “search, write, respond, delete or archive up to 90 days of messages while offline,” Entrepreneur reports.

With Gmail’s update, you can “search, write, respond, delete or archive up to 90 days of messages while offline.”

Ready to get all set up? When in your Gmail inbox, tap the gear icon in the top righthand corner, and then select “Try the new Gmail.” Watch your inbox transform, and start using the feature immediately. But if you’re not ready to adopt the new interface, you can still access your mail offline by adding a Google Chrome extension. To do this, select “Settings” from the gear’s drop-down menu. Then at the top, you’ll find an “Offline” option. Here, you’ll see “Gmail Offline” and will be directed to install the Chrome extension.

When you’re using the extension, you won’t be able to receive any new emails, but you will be able to use what already exists. This allows you to respond to emails, which will be placed on hold in your outbox. Once you’re back online again, everything you “sent” will officially go out to the recipients.

With this new option—or oldie but goodie of an extension—you can clean out your entire inbox before your plane even touches the ground, clearing the way for some true R&R, with a lot less email anxiety.

Here’s what successful boss babes keep at their desks to boost productivity. Or, if you want to get even more done, simply download one of these apps.
