3 Healthy Habits That Will Supercharge Your Mornings

People have a lot of theories on mornings. Breakfast or no breakfast? Are workouts and showers better a.m. or p.m. activities? How much sleep do you really need?

With all these questions floating out there, who better to go to for advice than someone whose Instagram bio touts the phrase, "How you start your day is how you live your life"?

That would be Ksenia Avdulova, the healthy blogger behind  Breakfast Criminals—who (unsurprisingly) is team pro-breakfast. To find out more, we stopped by Avdulova’s Upper West Side abode to score her morning tips (which include sage-ing her whole apartment, first thing).

"How you start your day is how you live your life."

Her preferred first meal of the day? A protein-packed smoothie—poured into her signature heart-shaped bowl, of course—with Amazing Grass Protein Superfood powder.

With 20 grams of plant-based protein in one scoop plus two full servings of fruits and vegetables, the smoothie booster is just as high in nutrients as it is flavor (Avdulova's fave is chocolate peanut butter). Plus, if you can just shake it up in water or almond milk and go if it happens to be a three-snooze type of morning.

Watch the video for Avdulova's three creative rituals—and scroll down for the drool-worthy smoothie bowl recipe.
