It’s not easy being queen—but it can be easy to look like one. All it takes, says former Miss Universe and actress Olivia Culpo, is a little (okay, a lot of) coconut oil.
Culpo recently shared her beauty essentials for an “off-duty day” with Byrdie. “Off duty for me means giving my skin a little bit of a break,” she says. But one thing she swears by to maintain a low-maintenance look: a jar of organic coconut oil.
“I’ll rub a little bit of my lip liner on my hand and then I’ll take the coconut oil—just a finger swab—and I’ll rub it in the liner.”
“I shave with it, I use it as a moisturizer, I also wear it as a hair mask, face mask—it’s my ultimate natural beauty secret,” she says.
And then she goes a step beyond the basics: “I also use this with my lip liner sometimes to create a really natural long-lasting stain. I’ll rub a little bit of my lip liner on my hand and then I’ll take the coconut oil—just a finger swab—and I’ll rub it in the liner. It’ll create a really beautiful natural stain that lasts all day and is so hydrating for the lips.”
Culpo’s lip stain hack is right up there with Priyanka Chopra’s scalp massages under the category of “things celebrities do with coconut oil that we never thought of.” Do you have any go-to (creative) uses, for beauty, cooking, or just getting the most out of every jar? Tell us in the Comments!
