Miranda Kerr: woo-woo wellness enthusiast? You could say so: The Aussie supermodel swears by essential oils (she swears they’re what got her over her break-up with Orlando Bloom), meditates for her mental health, and uses the power of breath in times of stress. Oh, and then there’s the fact that she’s got a serious crystal habit.

“I’m a big believer in the power of crystals,” she says. “I’ve been using them for a long time, and that’s when you really begin to understand their energy and their power.”

Though the model keeps gorgeous rocks all over her house (everything from amethyst to clear quartz), she’s particularly connected to one special gem: “I always carry a rose quartz in my bag. I also have a rose quartz wand—it’s like a little massage wand that I hold when I’m meditating—and I sleep with one under my pillow,” she admits. “It’s such a gentle stone that can really help heal and protect your heart.”

“It’s such a gentle stone that can really help heal and protect your heart.”

Want to follow Kerr’s lead? She recommends you charge your crystal on the reg. “I energize my rose quartz out in the sun and in the moon,” the supermodel adds.

You can also find rose quartz essence in all of the new products for Kora Organics, Kerr’s own natural beauty line (which is now available at Sephora). “I wanted to infuse the vibration of self-love,” she says. “We can all be our worst critics, so it’s important to love and appreciate yourself on a daily basis. This is just one way to do that. Even if you don’t understand it, I want people to sense that there’s something different and magical about these products.” Hey, she just wants to spread the heart-opening vibes—who can blame her?

To add to your rock collection, this is a room-by-room guide to the crystals you need in your home. And here are 3 unexpected ways to use crystals, from the hip-hop world’s gem expert.
