After many nights being in full-on hygge mode with your favorite (all-natural!) candle by your side, you reach the moment everyone dreads: hitting the bottom. But for wellness guru Alison Wu, no tears are shed at the end of the wick. To her, a wax-free candle vessel just signifies it's time to upcycle it into another trendy home good.

In a recent Instagram Story, the wellness blogger shared a genius hack to give your former candle container new life: turn it into a mug. In fact, Norden—one of Wu's go-to brands—actually encourages the practice. The hand-thrown, ceramic receptacles can easily be washed out and reused after their candle duties are complete.

Once your candles burns out, you can simply embrace the eco-friendly opportunity to grow a gorgeous collection of mugs for drinking your matcha. Just make sure you get all the wax out first; there unfortunately aren't any benefits to sipping the leftovers, no matter how good they smell.

If a run through the dishwasher doesn't quite do the trick, try pouring boiling into the cup and letting it cool overnight. In the morning, all the wax should float to the top for easy extraction. Easy-peasy, right?

Here's how to give your dinner party a chic, affordable makeover. Or, take a look at some modern home-decor items you can snag at Target.
