Busy Philipps has the Hollywood game down: She can rock a red carpet like it’s NBD, her BFF is Michelle Williams, and she’s starring in Tina Fey’s new NBC comedy The Sackett Sisters. But when it comes to Instagram, the 37-year-old actress and mom of two is less “OMG look at my glam life” and more #nofilter.
Case in point: her super-sweaty post-workout selfies and Instagram Stories where she documents her daily fitness routine. (Oh-so-relatable grimaces, grunts, muscle quivering, and upper lip sweat included.)

Yesterday, a majorly drenched Philipps shared a series of videos as she worked out, crediting Los Angeles-based LEKFit for keeping her motivated and in shape. “I am very sweaty from LEKFit,” she shared at the end of the workout. “Good stuff!”
The former Dawson’s Creek and Cougar Town actress is a longtime fan of Lauren Kleban’s 55-minute dance-inspired fitness classes, which include cardio dance segments, trampolining, and resistance exercises. But when she can’t make it to a class IRL, Philipps hits up Kleban’s classes On Demand. “So much sweat,” she captioned one of the videos, where she performed a series of donkey kicks and side planks.
How much sweat is too much sweat? Someone asked me if people like my sweaty Instagram stories and my feeling is that, honestly, I don't really care all that much. I post those for myself, as a fuck yes for showing up. I have anxiety and I have a tendency towards depression but I have found if I sweat like this, EVERY SINGLE DAY, I feel better, I'm calmer, I'm a better mom and those fogs of anxiety or sadness seem a little lighter. Philipps, who also loves SoulCycle and infrared saunas, says that breaking a daily sweat helps curb her anxiety, makes her feel great, keeps her calmer, and makes her a better mom. “My goal is not some perfect bod,” she wrote. “My goal is to feel the best I can in my body and my brain for the rest of my life.”
While releasing crazy amounts of liquid out of your pores might not technically mean you’re getting a more intense workout, Philipps is getting is a detox with serious science behind it (so hello, glow!).
