The 3 natural products that beauty guru Shirley Pinkson dubs “a killer anti-aging cocktail”

Welcome to My Morning Routine, where Shirley Pinkson and other good-life gurus share their personal (frequently surprising, often healthy) morning rituals—to help you make your a.m.’s more awesome.

Shirley Pinkson
Co-Founder, W3ll People

I am a happy morning person, but it does take me a minute to get there. Without fail, every morning I wake and make my way to the kitchen. As the coffee brews, I pour myself a large glass of filtered water and add a heaping teaspoon of The Beauty Chef’s Glow Powder. I drink it down and take the dogs for a short walk along the pier near my building in Brooklyn. Not a day passes that I don’t feel grateful for this moment.

Now I’m ready for what I have been waiting for: coffee! In goes a teaspoon of unrefined, organic coconut oil and almond milk, and then I sit at my laptop until the inspiration hits to get up and move!

I challenge myself to “move” 20 to 30 minutes a day. Some days I am inspired to visit my local SoulCycle, incline walk on the treadmill, or—my latest—climb all 30 floors of my building, rewarding myself at the top by taking in the spectacular view while setting positive intentions for the day. Motivation to exercise does not come naturally to me. It’s the clarity, energy, and inspiration I feel afterwards that drives me to make it happen.

Breakfast consists of a smoothie that includes maca, chia seeds, flax seed, and my favorite Sun Potion transformative powders, [including] reishi, ho shou wu, chlorella, moringa, and tocos.

Nothing makes me happier than playing in makeup and skincare—no surprise there! In the shower, I treat and gently exfoliate my complexion with May Lindstrom’s The Clean Dirt. I cleanse and hydrate my skin with The Body Deli’s delicious Moroccan Mint Shower Gel and One Love Organic’s Vitamin C Body Oil.

Before applying my W3ll People makeup, I prep my complexion with one pump of Arcona’s Youth Serum. I layer Marie Veronique’s Serum du Jour over it, and if I am feeling drier than usual, I add a boost of hydration with The Body Deli’s Melon Peptide Gel to my face and neck. All three treatments are loaded with wrinkle-fighting peptides and collagen boosting vitamin C—which equate to a killer anti-aging cocktail.

Day to day, my makeup is kept minimal. I won’t leave the house without my Expressionist Mascara, Bio Correct Concealer, Bio Bronzing Stick, and Grapefruit Lip Gloss—it’s a creamy, enlivening sheer pink that brightens my entire look.

What gets me through the rest of the day? Simply loving what I do.
