Called Impact by Jillian Michaels, the collection includes leggings, tanks, zip-ups, sports bras, and gym bags in four categories—core training, yoga, running, and lifestyle—and will be available online August 10, and in stores August 17.
While a recent flood of celebrity athletes and models have become the faces of different fitness fashion lines (think Misty Copeland for Under Armour and Karlie Kloss for Nike), very few trainers have launched their own branded collections. (Tara Stiles for Reebok is the only other recent collaboration that comes to mind, and Reebok also makes workout-branded lines, for CrossFit and Les Mills, for example.)
And while Kmart is no Carbon38, it’s a partnership that makes sense for the high-profile trainer, who has always focused on making fitness and wellness accessible to the masses. “She’s America’s favorite fitness guru and people love and trust her,” says Kmart’s chief of marketing, Diane Vaccaro. “Jillian has infused her personal style and enthusiasm for empowering women into the collection, allowing us to offer true performance and style at an affordable price.”
She’s not kidding—all of the pieces cost between $10.99 and $36.99. If the quality is actually not bad, it may be just as successful as Target’s now-beloved C9 by Champion.—Molly Gallagher
