3 best juice recipes from Melvin’s Juice Box

1/5

green juice recipes Melvin Major, Jr., is a New York City juicing legend, and he’s come a long way in the past few years. From serving long lines of loyal customers at Life Thyme Market on Sixth Avenue to opening Melvin’s Juice Box inside Miss Lily’s, to a second eponymous juice bar location in the trendy Dream Downtown hotel, which opened this month.

And how could you not want to get a juice from him, when it comes with fresh organic greens, a gigantic smile, and a splash of reggae?

The icon took a break from his Breville to share three of his favorite recipes so you can re-create them at home. And while the ingredients differ, his simple instructions for all three are the same: Wash your veggies well. “And put all of them through the juice extractor, mix it all together, pour from cup to cup, and ‘stir it up’ as Bob Marley would say!” —Lisa Elaine Held
